What happens to information submitted here

What this page covers

Dryside is an information site about concrete leak sealing. It carries out no building work. The only personal information it handles is what a visitor chooses to type into the enquiry form, and this page is about that.

What is collected

Only what is entered into the form:

• A name
• A phone number and email address, whichever are given
• A suburb or postcode
• The description of the problem
• Any photographs attached, which will usually show part of a home or building
• Answers to the leak diagnostic, where the enquiry came through it — these travel with the enquiry so the problem does not have to be described twice
• The page the visit started on, the page the form was submitted from, the referring site, and any campaign parameters in the web address

That last item is measurement rather than identification: it records which article produced an enquiry, so the site knows which subjects are worth writing about. It is attached to the enquiry and it is not used to build a profile or to track anyone across other websites.

Photographs are resized in the browser before they are sent, and that process discards the metadata phones attach to images — including the GPS coordinates of where the photograph was taken. No location is received from a photograph.

The diagnostic collects nothing

The leak diagnostic runs entirely in the browser. Answers are not sent anywhere, not stored, and not seen by anyone unless they are deliberately attached to an enquiry at the end. There is no email wall on it for exactly that reason.

Who receives an enquiry, and why

Enquiries are emailed to a licensed waterproofing contractor so they can make contact and, if asked, quote the work. That disclosure is the entire purpose of the form — there is no way to make the enquiry useful without it, which is why it is stated beside the submit button rather than only here.

Beyond that, nothing is disclosed. Details are not sold, not traded, not distributed to a panel of contractors, and not used to build an advertising audience.

How long it is kept

Enquiries live in an email inbox, and in the receiving contractor's own job records once they have been passed on. Where a job goes ahead, a licensed contractor is required to keep records for a period set by law, which can be several years. Where nothing comes of an enquiry, it can be deleted on request.

Getting a copy, correcting it, or having it deleted

Send the request through the enquiry form, saying clearly that it is a privacy request and what is wanted: what is held, a correction, or deletion. No reason has to be given and there is no charge.

If the response is unsatisfactory, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes complaints at oaic.gov.au.

Analytics and cookies

There is no advertising network and no tracking pixel on this site, and no content is withheld pending a consent choice. Where website analytics are running, they are configured to measure which pages get read rather than to identify who read them, and they may set a cookie to avoid counting the same browser twice.

Security, stated honestly

Submissions travel over an encrypted connection and are delivered by email. Email is not secure end to end, so nothing should be sent through this site that would not go in an ordinary email — bank details, identity documents, or anything similar. The form never asks for any of those.

If this page changes materially, the date at the top changes with it. See also the terms of use.
